This week’s playlist is eclectic, yet firmly jazz-rooted. As ever, we kick things of with a track from our upcoming Album of the Week – Sphila, by South African ensemble The Brother Moves On. From there, we head into varying degrees of jazz, via a couple of detours into some R’n’B and hip-hop. An indie and classic rock section breaks up the jazz this week, with tracks from the likes of The Doors, R.E.M. and Jimi Hendrix, before a final section with tunes from Sons of Kemet, Yussef Kamaal, and Newcastle-heralding collective Knats. New music this week comes from Joe Armon-Jones (feat. Greentea Peng, Wu-Lu), Joshua Redman and Prima Queen. Save, share and listen on Spotify.
