19. Waxing Weekly: 20/05/2025

The beautiful first movement from Floating Point’s symphonious collaboration with Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra takes Track 1 this week, from our Album of the Week, Promises. From there, we slowly raise the energy up into an indie-rock inspired few tracks, including music from the likes of Inhaler, The Libertines and Fontaines D.C. Movement 6 from Promises acts as a string-led, impactful bridge into a final section packed with jazz, funk, afrobeat and high life, with a couple of hip-hop tracks thrown in for good measure. New music this week comes from Theo Croker, Red Rum Club, Wolf Alice, KOKOROKO, The Fearless Flyers, Reuben James and Tom Misch. Save, share and listen on Spotify.
