The beautiful guitar of Jim Hall sets the tone for this week’s edition of Waxing Weekly, which is, as is often the case, centred around jazz. A selection of tracks feature from Newcastle-based singer Rivkala’s debut EP, Crushed Velvet, which released on Friday – following our recent interview with her about the record. This bridges into an eclectic middle section of more jazz, indie, hip-hop and soul (and plenty more new music). Finally, we pay tribute to the late, great Sly Stone, who sadly passed away this week, with a snippet of his amazing work. New music this week comes from Pomplamoose, Tyreek McDole, Arkadia Jazz All-Stars Rivkala, CMAT, Little Simz, Yazmin Lacey, Pulp, and Loaded Honey. Save, share and listen on Spotify.
