As Waxing Weekly playlists go, this week’s edition is probably one of the least jazzy we’ve had; but don’t worry, there’s still plenty to be had. Hip-hop and UK garage sets the scene with Turn the Page, a fantastic album opener (and playlist opener this week) from The Streets. As usual, this comes from our Album of the Week, Original Pirate Material. UK electronica continues, with more garage, jungle and dance music eventually seeing us through to some funk, soul and ska classics. A short but sweet section of hip-hop into indie is bridged by Hannah Peel’s wonderful Sunrise Through the Dusty Nebula, before a final few tracks with a bit of everything sees us through to end. New music comes from Nubiyan Twist, Joe Armon-Jones, Cherry Blur and Loyle Carner. Save, share and listen on Spotify.
